ESA Letter Evaluations

Housing-focused evaluations for Texas residents who may need an Emotional Support Animal letter.

PSD Letter Evaluations

Psychiatric Service Dog evaluations, also commonly searched for as a service dog letter.

Documentation, Not Dogs

We do not sell, place or train Emotional Support Animals or service dogs.

Optional Companion Document

Available by request after a letter is issued; it does not replace the signed provider letter.

Choose the Evaluation That Fits Your Needs

ESA letters address disability-related emotional support in housing. PSD evaluations address psychiatric disability needs and the trained tasks performed by a service dog.

Texas ESA Letter Evaluations for Housing

A Texas-licensed mental health provider reviews your symptoms, daily functioning, housing concern and the disability-related support your animal provides.

  • Individual clinical evaluation with a Texas-licensed mental health professional.
  • Review of anxiety, depression, PTSD, panic symptoms, trauma and daily functioning.
  • Housing-focused ESA letter documentation when clinically appropriate.
  • Useful for accommodation requests involving apartments, rental homes, no-pet rules, pet rent, deposits or pet fees.
  • Secure digital delivery and provider clarification support when appropriate.

An ESA letter may provide supporting information for a housing accommodation request. Approval is not guaranteed, housing coverage and individual facts matter, and the provider uses independent clinical judgment. Read HUD’s official assistance-animal guidance.

Psychiatric Service Dog and Service Dog Letter Evaluations

People often search for a service dog letter when they need a Psychiatric Service Dog evaluation. The provider reviews psychiatric symptoms, functional limitations and the disability-related tasks the dog is trained to perform or is preparing to learn.

  • Individual evaluation with a Texas-licensed mental health professional.
  • Review of psychiatric symptoms, functional needs and treatment goals.
  • Discussion of task-based support connected to the person's disability.
  • PSD documentation when clinically appropriate.
  • Secure digital delivery and clarification assistance when appropriate.

A provider letter is clinical documentation about the person. It does not train or certify a dog and does not by itself create service-dog status or public-access rights. Under the ADA, a service dog must be individually trained to perform work or tasks related to a disability. Read the official ADA service-animal guidance.

Texas ESA Letter & PSD Letter Service Questions

Does Texas Service Animals sell, place or train dogs?

No. Texas Service Animals provides clinical evaluation and documentation services. We do not sell, place, breed or train Emotional Support Animals or service dogs.

What is included in a Texas ESA letter evaluation?

A Texas-licensed mental health provider reviews symptoms, daily functioning, housing concerns and the disability-related support the animal provides. A letter is issued only when clinically appropriate.

Do you offer a service dog letter?

We offer Psychiatric Service Dog evaluations, which many people search for as a service dog letter or PSD letter. The evaluation considers psychiatric disability needs and disability-related tasks. A provider letter is clinical documentation about the person; it does not train or certify the dog or independently create public-access rights.

Do you offer an optional Letter Companion Certificate & ID?

Yes. After an ESA or PSD letter is issued, a client may request an optional Letter Companion Certificate & ID prepared from the issued documentation. It is not government registration, is not legally required, does not certify an animal or create legal status, and does not replace the signed provider letter or PSD task training.

Can an ESA letter support an apartment accommodation request?

It may provide supporting information for a reasonable accommodation request when a licensed professional documents a qualifying disability-related need. Requests can involve a no-pet rule, pet rent, a pet deposit or pet fees. Housing coverage and individual circumstances still matter, and approval is not guaranteed.

Is an ESA letter or PSD letter guaranteed?

No. Documentation is issued only when the Texas-licensed provider determines that it is clinically appropriate after an individual evaluation.
